The Board governs the management, administration, and control of the property, revenue, and business of the University. Business of the Board is supported by the University Secretariat. Members of the Board of Governors of the University of the Fraser Valley do not receive any remuneration for their services; however, Board members may be reimbursed for out-of-pocket expenses incurred in discharging their duties to the Board and to the University.

Board meetings are generally held the first Thursday of the month, September through June. The public session of meetings begins at 5 pm. Meeting locations alternate between UFV campuses.
