Employment Skills Access Program (ESA)
Are you unemployed and looking to gain the skills necessary to enter or re-enter the labour market?
What is the Employment Skills Access Program (ESA)? The ESA program is a fully funded training program to provide participants with the essential skills training needed to help unemployed individuals gain the skills needed to enter or re-enter the labour force!
Who is the ESA program for? Qualified participants will be:
• Unemployed and non-EI clients (Must not have collected benefits within the last three years)
• Unemployed and not collected maternal/paternal benefits within the last 5 years
• Lacking essential skills or education needed to advance past low-skilled employment
What will I learn? Qualified participants will have three options to choose from. Business and computer essentials, Introduction to Trades, and Hospitality & Customer service cohorts are available.
Customer Service for Retail & Hospitality stream: Starting October 2012 Business Communications, Basic Computer Skills, WHMIS, Occupational First Aid Level I, FoodSafe Level I & II, Serving it Right, WorldHost, Retail Sales.
Business and Computer Essentials stream: Starting January 14, 2013 MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access, MS OUtlook, Business Communications, Keyboarding, Bookkeeping I & II, Payroll, BC Employment Law.
Customer Service for Retail & Hospitality stream: Starting April 15, 2013 Business Communications, Basic Computer Skills, WHMIS, Occupational First Aid Level I, FoodSafe Level I & II, Serving it Right, WorldHost, Retail Sales.
When will my cohort be offered? Schedules are set starting October 2012, January 2013, and April 2013: apply today and reserve your seat!

Where will my classes be located? All Classes will be held at the Clearbrook Centre in Abbotsford.
