Candidate presentation for BC Regional Innovation Chair

An active search is underway for the position of BC Regional Innovation Chair. Two shortlisted candidates will be visiting the UFV Abbotsford campus in the coming weeks for interviews, presentations, and interaction with faculty and staff. You are invited to attend the presentations, at which each candidate has been asked to answer the following questions:
1. In your view, what are the greatest potential obstacles to Canadian investments in India? What can Canada and BC do to address these obstacles? 2. How would your proposed research and activities help business communities in Canada and Northern India work together to exploit new Canada-India business opportunities?
These will be 30-minute presentations followed by a brief question period.
Dr. Neil Mathur Friday, March 1 9:00 - 10:00 Abbotsford, A360
"I am passionate about socioeconomic aimed at improving regional and economic quality of life in British Columbia, particularly the Indo-Canadian population in the Fraser Valley... I have owned a business in India for more than a decade, been a senior higher education administrator, and an economics and statistics professor... My education and experience have resulted in three main areas of research interest: economics, education and crime; environmental economics, and healthcare economics." Currently, Dr. Mathur is an online instructor at various institutions including: Nipissing University, University of Phoenix, Strayer University, Trident University, Park University, Capella University, University of the Rockies, University of Memphis, Upper Iowa University, Ashford University, Northeastern University, Midway College, Marylhurst University, Walden University, Grand Canyon University, and Charter Oak College, teaching economics, finance, statistics, business, healthcare, and arts courses.
