Blackboard Learn Introductory Workshop & Lab

This workshop will provide you with an overview of Blackboard Learn.  Topics include: how to navigate Blackboard, how to personalize your course, and how to use Blackboard tools to add and organize course content. We will discuss design issues and best practices for online courses.

Lab: The last hour of this workshop is an optional hands-on lab for course development. ETS/Online staff will be available to answer questions and assist you with your individual Blackboard course shells.

Note: You may wish to bring a digital photo or avatar of yourself to create a welcome message during the workshop. You may also wish to bring a course syllabus, or other course content to upload.

Blackboard Learn Full Grade Centre - Gordon Jang

This is an advanced workshop. First hour we will provide an overview of the Full Grade Centre. We will review the basics for faculty who want to manually create columns to provide grades and feedback. We will then look at other tools to help you to manage the grade centre, such as Column Organization, Catagories and Smartviews. We'll go over Weighted Grades vrs. Total column. Second hour, we'll have open lab time to discuss use case scenerio or a time to address any other areas of Blackboard.

Blackboard Kaltura Building Block - Gordon Jang

Are you creating video assignments in your course? create video Introductions? I’ll be demonstrating the Kaltura building block in Blackboard Learn. You will learn how to:

  • access the tool in Blackboard
  • capture from your Webcam,
  • upload audio/video,
  • guideline for student Assignment
