PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Integrated pest management plays a key role in today's agriculture. This certificate is comprised of 15 credits (5 three-credit courses) and is designed to help producers and agri-service personnel to identify and assess pests in the field. The program focuses on environmnentally conscious management strategies based on pest lifecycle and ecology.

Topics include:

  • Pest biology and identification
  • Fundamentals of pest management
  • Introduction to soils and soil fertility
  • Field techniques in pest management

CAREER EXPECTATIONS

The Integrated Pest Management Essentials certificate prepares you for entry-level pest scout positions in government agencies, pest control companies, or agricultural services companies.
