There are multiple ways for instructors to test students online using web tools inside of the course. However, your instructor may require you to attend a designated institution in your area to take an exam. If you require further details you can contact your instructor about your course exam schedule.
If you want to purchase your textbooks prior to the start of the course, you can check the book list in the UFV bookstore. If you are unable to come to campus, the bookstore's direct line is 604-854-4535, or visit the website to order textbooks online. ucfv.bookware3000.ca/eSolution/course.php
Participation is entirely through written communication and some first time students are shy about their writing ability. Online classes often start with getting acquainted sessions. Jump right in, introduce yourself and meet your fellow class members. Instructors encourage a conversational tone and will encourage you to post messages and may offer exercises that help you develop an online rapport. You will find that your writing ability will improve as the course progresses.
The most frequent advice from previous online students is to make sure that you don't short-change your time commitment. It can be tempting to put off your online course work so it is worthwhile preparing a course work schedule, which includes logging in at least three times a week . . . and stick to it! If you do fall behind, be sure to contact your instructor for advice on how to catch up.
