The Adult Basic Education (ABE) Program
has two levels: ABE and ABEUP

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Program description:  Adult Basic Education (ABE) -- also known as Adult Upgrading is designed to help you upgrade your academic skills so you can reach your educational goals. Both programs will enable you to obtain High School Completion, or obtain university prerequisite courses. By enrolling in ABE students will be able to:

• complete prerequisite courses for post-secondary programs;
• improve basic math and English skills;
• complete specific courses to earn skill level completion certificates;
• complete high school to earn the BC adult graduation diploma (Adult Dogwood);
• prepare for the General Educational Development (GED) high school equivalency test;
• enter college or university programs; or
• improve skills for personal benefit.

ABE courses follow the guidelines and requirements established by the Ministry of Advanced Education. Course scheduling and location:  Courses within the Adult Basic Education (ABE) program are offered during all semesters (Fall, Winter, & Summer).  Courses are offered at the Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission, and Hope campuses.  Summer semester courses are only offered at the Abbotsford and Chilliwack campuses.  See the (ABE) Timetable for more information.
