What is CCR?

The Co-Curricular Record is UFV's official document developed to recognize your out-of-classroom extracurricular contributions. The record highlights your participation/contribution, essential skills development and/or additional learning outcomes and achievements throughout your time at UFV.

What are the benefits?

CCR provides you with an official document to communicate and validate your co-curricular involvement to future employers, graduate school applications and for grants and bursaries. It  provides potential employers with a window into your involvement outside of the classroom. When coupled with your academic transcript, the CCR provides a holistic view of your overall student experience that can help set you apart from the crowd when you graduate. The CCR also provides you with a tool to identify, evaluate, and reflect on the experiential learning in your co-curricular activities.

How can I use my CCR?

You can include your CCR as a valuable addition and enhancement to your résumé and career or academic portfolio. Traditionally, the CCR is used when applying/interviewing for jobs, internships, scholarships, awards, continuing education or further development experiences.

What criteria does an activity need to meet?

Many activities organized by faculty and staff can be recognized and are eligible for a co-curricular record, though it must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 20 hour commitment completed over a CCR period: September to April or May to August
  • Not eligible for academic credit
  • Accountable to a recognized UFV member
  • Connects to UFV Institutional Learning Outcomes

Who are the validators and why does an activity require one?

Who do I contact to have my position validated?

If you have questions or concerns regarding the status of your position's validation, contact the validator for your specific activity.

What is the minimum time commitment needed to have a position on the CCR?

A minimum of 20 hours commitment is required within the pre-determined time period of the activity.

The minimum commitment of 20 hours is strictly enforced.

Do acceptable CCR activities have to be within the University or University-related?

Yes. The CCR is a University of the Fraser Valley document; it can only recognize University of the Fraser Valley related events/organizations.

Can I be recognized for hours exceeding the 20-hour time commitment?

The Co-Curricular Transcript does not list the number of hours that have been committed to an activity/position. The most important aspect of the CCR is the Institutional Learning Outcomes that are associated with the activity.

Can paid positions be included in MyCCR?

As long as the activity/position does not receive academic credit and meets all other required criteria it may qualify for inclusion on the Co-Curricular Record.

Can I include activities from preceding years?

No, the CCR is not retroactive. Involvement can only be recognized within the year it takes place.

Can the Co-op program be accepted as appropriate involvement in the CCR?

No. The Co-op program receives academic credit thus is not eligible for recognition on your CCR.
