What is a Student Life Ambassador? ‌‌Student Life Ambassadors are the heart and soul of Student Life at UFV. They are enthusiastic volunteers that go out of their way to help welcome new students to UFV while being proud representatives of our university. During New Student Orientation (NSO), Ambassador’s main role is being a group leader, being excited and welcoming students to UFV as well as answering questions and providing valuable advice on how to have a great university experience!  Ambassadors can also be involved in various activities around campus including conferences, retreats, student panels and much more!

What is expected of me?

‌We recognize how busy our students are and appreciate their commitment to UFV and Student Life. Ambassadors will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of events and opportunities throughout the year, where the main goal is to engage our students. These events can include New Student Orientation in the fall and winter semesters, Parent Orientation, conferences and retreats. Responsibilities may include:

  • Leading campus tours during our orientation events
  • Engaging with students throughout NSO; supporting faculty tables; taking part in opening and closing celebrations
  • Engaging a as member of a conference/retreat committee

New Student Orientation is the main focus of the UFV Ambassador program which includes a full day event on both the Chilliwack and Abbotsford campuses [separate days] with an additional 1/2 day training session. Ambassadors can volunteer for one or both days along with the 1/2 day training. In addition to NSO, Ambassadors have the opportunity to be involved in several other fun and engaging events throughout each semester, some planned and some spontaneous.
