Admissions

International Baccalaureate

International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma courses may be used in place of regular grade 12 courses in the same discipline, either for meeting course prerequisites or meeting entrance requirements that include approved grade 12 courses.

Transfer credit for IB courses

University-level transfer credit may be granted to students who complete certain higher level International Baccalaureate (IB) examinations. Normally, a minimum grade of 5 is required for transfer of IB courses. Transferability of International Baccalaureate courses is listed in the B.C. Transfer Guide, under "Block, AP and IB Guides".

To use IB courses at UFV, the following documentation is required:

  • If taken in a BC school, the final grades will be reported on your final high school transcript. This is sufficient for meeting high school entrance requirements.
  • Transfer credit will only be evaluated and granted when official IB score results are sent directly from the International Baccalaureate organization to UFV Admissions at the Office of the Registrar in Abbotsford. The institutional number for UFV is 00084. Students may be able to request that the results be sent directly to UFV when the test is written, or transcripts can be ordered later.
