Internal funding

Grant holders cannot hold two internal grants simultaneously. This does not include ROSA.

Please note internal grants may not be used for conference travel expenses. Additionally, all changes deviating 10% from the budget require prior approval. 

Faculty/Student Research and Scholarly Activity Fund

The Faculty/Student Research and Scholarly Activity Fund (FSRSAF) supports active student involvement in faculty research and scholarly activity (up to $4,000 or $8,000 depending on stream). All Type B faculty, academic support faculty, and directors are eligible to apply. Applications are due in ROMEO. Applications are due September 16, 2024. 

Please note, all funds must be spent by March 31, 2025.

SSHRC Explore Grant

The SSHRC Explore grant is made possible by block funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) to the University of the Fraser Valley. Explore grants are designed to support small-scale Social Science and Humanities research projects with modest funding requirements for researchers at any stage in their careers (up to $7000). Funds are provided by SSHRC and adjudicated/distributed by the University of the Fraser Valley. All Type B faculty are eligible to apply. Applications are due in ROMEO Monday, June 3, 2024 by 11:59 pm.

Please note, all funds must be spent by March 31, 2025.

Faculty Publication Fund

The faculty publication fund allows faculty to submit an application for one open access publishing support application per academic year to receive up to a maximum of $1000 to cover open access publishing fees. 

The Faculty Publication Fund Application Form must be approved prior to the author submitting the article for review.
