Meet Canada's UFV
Known for career-centre, hands-on programs and strong ties to India
The University of the Fraser Valley is a fully accredited, public university that enrols more than 14,000 students annually. Nestled in the beautiful Fraser Valley just east of Vancouver, British Columbia, UFV has campuses in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and Mission, a regional centre in Hope, a satellite campus in Chandigarh, India for its BBA degree program at SD College, and a growing presence throughout the Indian subcontinent. We offer 15 bachelor’s degrees, more than 80 certificate and diploma programs, and a Master of Arts degree in Criminal Justice.
UFV operates the world’s only Centre for Indo-Canadian Studies, and enjoys overwhelming support from the largest Indo-Canadian community in western Canada (22 per cent of the City’s population, and one in five UFV students, has roots in South Asia — the vast majority of whom are from Punjab). UFV also delivers its Bachelor of Business Administration degree at Sanatan Dharma College Chandigarh (SDCC), and a dual Master’s degree in Panjab University’s Police Administration and UFV’s Criminology department is underway.
UFV has partnerships in India with Panjab University, University of Delhi, Manipal University, Guru Nanak Dev University, Sanatan Dharma College, St. Andrew’s College, and the Centre for Research in Rural and Industrial Development (CRRID). UFV is large enough to offer variety and small enough to offer you personal attention and flexible learning options. Our small class sizes and teaching focus mean that you get to know your instructors and learn in a hands-on environment. We are proud of our reputation for offering practical, career-centred programming that responds directly to employers’ needs.
UFV hosts more than 650 international students from 38 countries, any of whom have transferred from Chandigarh to Canada.
UFV’s three campuses (Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and Mission) and regional centre (Hope) are all nestled in the Fraser Valley, in beautiful British Columbia on Canada’s west coast. The Abbotsford campus is just 45 minutes by car from the heart of Vancouver, and 10 minutes from the U.S. border. Students of the BBA degree at UFV’s satellite campus in Chandigarh, India, can apply to spend any portion of their degree in Canada after successful completion of a minimum of one year studying in India.
