The Faculty of Arts and Applied Arts at UCFV provides the community with
a broad range of educational opportunities that prepare students to be
active, successful citizens of the 21st century. Our goal is to help students

inheritors of traditions, and as creators of possible futures. Maintaining
high academic standards, we offer innovative disciplinary, interdisciplinary,

General Arts
General Arts is a category of General Studies, and is designed for students entering UCFV who wish to study humanities or social sciences. After completing nine university-credits with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 based on all university-level credits attempted, General Arts students can apply for admission to the Two-Year Arts program.
Entrance requirements
B.C. secondary school graduation or equivalent or minimum of 19 years of age before the first day of classes.
Note: You must meet the prerequisites for your course(s) before you begin
classes. Please read the course descriptions to determine which prerequisites
are needed.
If a Composition placement Test (CPT) or Math Placement Test
(MPT) is required, please make arrangements early in the year to write
it.
General Studies
The General Studies category is designed for students wishing to take courses for their own interest or to help them in choosing a direction of study. As a General Studies student, you may take arts, science, and/or applied courses. General Studies is not a true “program”; it has no structured group of courses. Students can apply later for any of the associate, diploma, or degree options at UCFV. Credit is given for courses recognized by your chosen option.
University-level courses can be transferred to another institution. For more details, see Guidelines for Transfer section.

Note: Direct admission into the Two-year Arts programs is not possible for high school students.
