WorkBC projects that from 2015 to 2025, there will be 10,690 job openings for bookkeepers and accounting technicians in British Columbia, 76% from replacement, and 24% from growth.

Program outline

The Bookkeeping for Small Business certificate program is one of the most popular programs at UFV Continuing Education. Our graduates are able to take the skills they learn in our classrooms and apply it to a career which offers the potential for flexible working hours, the ability to work from home and a steady income in a challenging and rewarding environment.

Our program offers flexible schedules and our small class sizes afford our students the opportunity to work closely with industry professionals and peers!

To obtain a certificate in Bookkeeping for Small Business, you must successfully complete the following courses:

  • Bookkeeping I
  • Bookkeeping II
  • Microsoft Excel Level I
  • Sage 50 Level I
  • Sage 50 Level II
  • Payroll Accounting
  • NEW — Expand your electronic accounting skill set to include Quickbooks 2016. Quickbooks is an additional course that enhances your expertise. It is not a requirement of the Bookkeeping for Small Business certificate.
