Nuances of Tea

Are you interested to learn more about tea? This course will cover the five main types of tea and how to properly brew them: White, Green, Black, Oolong and Pu’erh. Each session will be a detailed look at a type of tea, the tea region of the world where it is grown and a tea tasting. It is an enchanting journey through the history of tea from ancient times to our modern and busy world.

FoodSafe Level 1

In this course you will learn food handling, sanitation and work safety for front line food service workers such as cooks, servers, bussers, dishwashers, and deli workers. The course covers important food safety and worker safety information including foodborne illness, receiving and storing food, preparing food, serving food, cleaning and sanitizing. Exam is included on course fee.

Spice Me Up– Indian Cooking 1

Have you always wanted to learn to make an authentic and flavourful meal from South Asia? Join us this fall as Raj Bining teaches and creates savoury and spicy meals from scratch. In this hands–on class learn how to make “Kurry Curry”. A curry dish that is made with chick pea flour and buttermilk and simmered in garlic, ginger and onion with authentic spices, served with rice pilaf and chai tea.

When fall comes around you want a warm and adventurous home–cooked meal to tantalize your taste buds. Come learn the secrets on how to make delicious South Asian cuisine. In this hands–on class Raj Bining will teach you how to make Chilli Chicken. Chicken breasts sautéed with red and green bell peppers and onions in an amazing sauce of spicy and sweet flavours. Served with rice pilaf and chai tea.

Spice Me Up– Indian Cooking 3

Come join us in learning South Asian cuisine and bring your appetite!  In this hands–on class Raj Bining will teach you to make Alo the Batou de Sabjji. Eggplant and potatoes are cooked in onion ginger and garlic slowly simmered to evaporate all sauces, leaving behind a very seasoned and flavourful dish. Served with Roti, a flat bread made on cast iron.
