TRIUMF SUMMER RESEARCH AWARD
TRIUMF is Canada's National Laboratory for Particle and Nuclear Physics, located on the campus of the University of British Columbia.
TRIUMF has a policy to give Canadian undergraduate students the opportunity to experience the excitement of research at a National Laboratory such as TRIUMF. In part to fulfill this policy, they sponsor 5 scholarships every year to bring one student from each of the 5 regions of Canada to TRIUMF.

For students with 24 credits or more who are transferring to the University of Alberta from other post-secondary institutions.
Scholastic Distinction Competition
AVAILABLE TO: Post-secondary transfer students starting their first U of A undergraduate degree who have a minimum average of 95% in grades 10, 11, and 12 and equivalent grades on any completed post-secondary work. Candidates must be nominated by their high school/post-secondary institution.
Continuing/Transfer Leadership Awards Competition
AVAILABLE TO: Continuing undergraduate students. To be eligible, applicants must possess the ability to interact and communicate well with people and demonstrate leadership through involvement and participation in university or community organizations, sports activities, cultural activities, or political activities.
Universiade '83 Scholarship Competition
AVAILABLE TO: A minimum 60% of the scholarships are designated for athletics. A minimum 25% of the scholarships are designated for fine arts. A minimum 25% of the scholarships are designated for the following categories:

Continuing U of A Undergraduate students
AVAILABLE TO: Students who are in full-time attendance at the University of Alberta. The have to demonstrated excellence in athletics or fine arts. Student must be pursuing excellence in athletics or fine arts during the current academic year and have superior academic achievement.

UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA ENTRANCE AWARDS FOR STUDENTS TRANSFERRING FROM A REGIONAL COLLEGE
Students transferring to UBC from a college or university who have an overall admission GPA of 3.8 or better will qualify. The average is calculated on final grades and a minimum or 27 transferable credits are required. Students who already hold a degree and intend to transfer to UBC to complete a second degree are not eligible for this award.
Note: A separate application for this award is not required. Award recipients will be notified in their letter of admission .

Students transferring to the University of Lethbridge who have attended another post-secondary institution. AVAILABLE TO: B.C. college or university/college applicants transferring to the University of Victoria and maintaining an “A” average based on a full course load.
T.S. McPherson Entrance Scholarship
AVAILABLE TO: Candidates must have a very high academic record in their last two years of study. If the student maintains a grade point average of 7.50 or higher, the scholarship is automatically renewed for each year of a student’s full time study (15 units) until the co mpletion of a first degree or for a maximum of five years, whichever is the shorter period. A student whose grade point average falls between 7.00 and 7.49 may file a written appeal with the Senate Committee on Awards to seek special consideration for renewal of the scholarship. No renewal is considered if a student’s grade point average falls below 7.00. Selection is based on academic excellence, breadth of interest and leadership qualities.

AVAILABLE TO: students of exceptional academic promise entering the University of Victoria from Canadian secondary school or B.C. regional colleges. The awards will be reserved for students of extraordinary academic promise. Candidates must have a very strong academic record in their last two years of study. Scholarships with Specific Criteria:
L. & G. Butler Scholarship for the Disabled
AVAILABLE TO: applicants from Canadian secondary schools and B.C. regional colleges. A brief note identifying disability is required with application form. An award is made annually on the basis of academic performance to a disabled student attending the University of Victoria. The recipient may be a newly admitted or returning student. Students interested in the scholarship should refer to the paragraph on undergraduate scholarship eligibility in the General Regulations.
C.H. Dowling Memorial Scholarship
AVAILABLE TO: a First Nations student who is a resident of British Columbia and who is entering the University of Victoria directly from a BC secondary school or regional college. Preference will be given to a student entering the Faculty of Humanities or the Faculty of Social Sciences.
Marguerite Du Gardein-Matson-Gibbons Female Artist Scholarship
AVAILABLE TO: a female student entering the Department of Visual Arts from a Canadian secondary school or a BC regional college.
India Canada Cultural Association of Victoria Scholarship
AVAILABLE TO: a student entering the University of Victoria directly from a BC secondary school or regional college. Preference is given an Indo-Canadian student.
Jane-Claire Inkster Memorial Scholarship
AVAILABLE TO: students who intend to study programs other than business, commerce or economics and who are entering the University of Victoria from BC secondary schools or regional colleges. Preference will be given to students who can demonstrate financial need.
Faculty of Engineering Dean’s Entrance Scholarship
AVAILABLE TO: students with high academic standing who are entering the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Victoria directly from British Columbia secondary schools or regional colleges. The assessment of academic standing of the secondary school students will be based on secondary school course results while assessment of regional college students will be based on college course results.
The Betty and Gilbert Kennedy Entrance Scholarship in Engineering
AVAILABLE TO: outstanding students entering the Faculty of Engineering from British Columbia secondary schools or regional colleges.
