Student employment

Earn money, test out career options, and launch your career now while you are studying.  As a UFV student with a valid study permit, you may be eligible for one or more of the following work opportunities:

Work on campus

You can land an on-campus, part-time job that is flexible and built around your class schedule. Working on campus gives you the opportunity to work with UFV faculty and staff, while gaining work experience and building up your references.

Work off campus

If you’ve been a full-time student for six months, you may choose to search for an off-campus job.  An off-campus job can help you learn more about the workplace, develop new skills, and make valuable connections in the community.

Participate in the Co-op program

You may prefer to alternate academic studies with paid work terms in a career-related field through UFV’s coop education program.  Not only do you get to earn money and develop contacts, you also graduate with a degree and relevant work experience in your field.

Find out what you need to do to get a job while studying at UFV.

Volunteer to Work

If your main goal is to secure references for other employment or graduate school, get involved with the Volunteer to Work program. Being a volunteer is an excellent way to meet people, help others, and make your mark in the community.

Working after you graduate

Keep in mind that even after you graduate, you can work in Canada for up to three years to gain strategic work experience and marketable skills that will stand out on your résumé. Find out how to qualify and apply for a post-graduation work permit.
