Ever wonder where your trash ends up? Do you seem to think we could be doing more recycling? Or do you have any suggestions as to how we can reduce our waste?

Come have your voice heard at Trash Talks! On Thursday March 17, 2011 between 1:30-5:30 in B121 on the Abbotsford UFV campus,  UFV will be hosting thought leaders from the municipal, business and waste sectors to share and dialogue about how our Fraser Valley communities can work to move the region closer towards Zero Waste.

Come out to learn and share about topics including:
  • what are the issues with waste management in the Fraser Valley?
  • where does our waste go and how does it get there?
  • how can we model sustainable waste management practices?
  • what is the infrastructure that is necessary to help reduce waste?
  • where do we start? how can we better reduce? how can we reuse?
  • what about incineration? how about composting?
  • how does the market determine how we handle waste?
Through exploring these questions and gaining a better understanding of the issues surrounding waste management, together we can tackle the issue and handle our waste in more sustainable fashion.
