MAJOR, MINOR AND EXTENDED MINOR IN PHILOSOPHY

As a Philosophy student, you will explore the ideas and arguements that have influenced our society and will continue to have a profound impact on how society develops. You will be prepared to understand the roots of contemporary conflicts and explain them. You will know how to apply moral theories and principles for resolving ethical delimmas. A major or minor in Philosophy is excellent preparation for a career in law, social justice, political advocacy, and counselling.

APPLIED ETHICAL AND POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY MINOR

Students in the Applied Ethical and Political Philosophy (AEPP) Minor program will develop their capacities for creative and critical thinking. They will acquire an understanding of the social and political institutions that govern our communities, our country, and the whole world. And they will increase their sensitivity to the ethical and political dimensions of our lives as individuals, as members of families, communities, interest groups, professions and nations, and as citizens of the world.

EXTENDED STUDIES CERTIFICATE IN PHILOSOPHY

As a graduate, you may find you have reached a point where you want to reflect more deeply on the issues and dilemmas you deal with. The Extended Studies Certificate will provide you with a way to approach personal and professional issues from a sound ethical and logical basis.
