Office of the President and Vice-Chancellor
The President’s Leadership Lecture Series was established in 2011 with the intent to bring to UFV inspirational leaders to share their ideas with us, challenge us, and perhaps even provoke us.
In keeping with UFV's mission, vision, and values, these lectures focus on issues relevant to social, cultural, economic, and environmentally responsible development in the Fraser Valley.
Join us for these unique opportunities to build awareness, dialogue, and engagement on topics of interest to us all.
Award-winning journalist.
Investigative storyteller.
Changemaker.
Join UFV for an evening with Rick Westhead, TSN Senior Correspondent and award-winning investigative journalist, as he explores the stories behind his reporting and our shared responsibility to listen and to create safe, supportive, and responsive communities.
A two-time Canadian Sports Writer of the Year and recipient of the Arnold Amber Award for Investigative Journalism, Westhead is the author of the bestselling We Breed Lions: Confronting Canada’s Troubled Hockey Culture. His reporting has brought national attention to issues of safety, accountability, and culture in sport.
Before joining TSN, Westhead was a foreign correspondent for the Toronto Star, reporting from Afghanistan, China, Saudi Arabia, and other countries.
