The Storytellers
The countdown is on.
Students from across Canada have been submitting their pitches about SSHRC-funded research and how it is making an impact in our everyday lives.
Now is your chance to show Canada and the world why social sciences and humanities research matters.
Twenty-five first-round winners will receive a cash prize valued at $3,000 and an invitation to participate in a specialized research communications workshop at the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences, in Victoria, in June, and to deliver their pitch at the Storytellers Showcase at Congress. Five final winners will have the chance to deliver a featured presentation at the World Social Science Forum in Montreal, in October.
Submissions will be accepted until March 1 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Don’t miss out!

NSERC and SSHRC Scholarship workshops
The research office is hosting two workshops for students planning to apply for the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) scholarships. There will be separate workshops for each one but students are welcome to either as the applications are very similar.
The workshop for NSERC will be held on Wednesday October 3rd at 11:30. Room A253. The workshop for SSHRC will be held on Thursday October 4th at 11:30. Room A261.
Students can bring their applications but the workshop will have an example of one that we go through step by step.
