Synergy 2012 - Canada India Education Council

Registrations are now open for the successful “Canada-India: A Synergy in Education” event, held since 2007.  The Canada India Education Council (CIEC) is proud to host Synergy 2012 on September 20 &21 at the Hilton Garden Inn near Toronto Airport.

This year’s event will highlight education activities as well as provide networking opportunities for institutions and organizations interested in operating in either or both countries. With a focus on key academic areas of co-operation and on partnerships, Synergy 2012 will provide updates from India regarding the entry for foreign education providers (Bill 57) leading to the possible creation of ‘Campus Canada’ in India and other exciting initiatives.  Synergy 2012 will serve as a great way to hear about both governments’ programs and policies in education, which have been recognized as a signature priority.

Join hundreds of academic experts from both countries as they discuss recent developments and hear illustrious speakers stimulate thought and demonstrate the opportunities of this dynamic and burgeoning education corridor.  For a detailed Agenda & to Register, please visit www.CanadaIndiaEducation.com/Synergy2012.aspx

CIEC is a membership founded, not for profit, bi-national, independent, event-driven organization established to operate exclusively in the 'Canada India education corridor', enhance ties and create opportunities for academic institutions and learners from both countries.

WUSC's 10th Annual National Research Seminar (2003-2012)

WUSC is pleased to launch this year's National Research Seminar and to celebrate its first decade. Inaugurated by John Ralston Saul in 2003, the National Research Seminar explores a particular challenge in international development and provides a tremendous platform for emerging scholars to share their research findings with university and college students, faculty members, practitioners and policy makers from across Canada and the world.

The National Research Seminar takes place each year as part of WUSC's International Forum, which will be held in Ottawa, November 1-3, 2012.

WUSC welcomes expressions of interest from emerging scholars and researchers from a cross-section of disciplines, sectors and regions. This includes Canadians engaged in international issues and southern-based researchers. We invite applicants to challenge the status quo and examine emerging ideas that can and do transform development.

Eligible applicants include individuals currently enrolled in a PhD program, who have recently completed a PhD or are new faculty members at a university or college. WUSC also encourages applications from Masters students who are conducting original research related to the theme.

Application deadline: June 30th
