**New Residents!**

Welcome to UFV’s Baker House!
Congratulations on making a great decision and we are happy you have made the decision to stay with us. Living in residence offers you a very special and rewarding experience- it is not just a place to stay!

To help facilitate a positive experience, the staff and students in Residence Services work hard to provide you a wide variety of programs and services in addition to convenient, safe and secure facilities. We provide you with opportunities designed to enhance your university experience and develop transferable skills beyond you stay with us from living with people from all over the world.

For example, you will have access to a University 101 course at no cost to you and worth 2 credits! You will have many leadership opportunities such as joining the Baker House Student Association, a UFV club or association or attending a leadership retreat. You will form friendships with people from diverse backgrounds and participate in many intramural activities.

What to Bring to UFV Baker House

This “What to Bring to the Baker House” list is a general overview of items that typically are used in a residence room. We recommend waiting until you move-in and meet your roommate to determine who might bring certain items due to space and economic considerations. This is not an all-inclusive list; if you are unsure about an item, please contact residence@ufv.ca.

What NOT to Bring to UFV Baker House

Here are a few items that are not allowed in the residence halls or they are already provided.

  • Toaster ovens
  • George Foreman grills
  • Air-conditioners
  • Telephone (provided)
  • Fire Arms/Weapons
  • Space heaters
  • Pets
  • Candles
  • Microwaves (provided)
  • Grills
  • Iron & Ironing board (provided in laundry rooms)
