• Fully furnished with bed, nightstand, dresser, desk, and desk chair
• Shared living area (with microwave, mini-fridge, kitchen table, and chairs)
• Bathroom shared with just one roommate 
• Shared common room on each floor with cable TV
• Shared study room on each floor
• Internet connection in bedrooms, common areas, and study space
• Fully equipped communal kitchen on first floor
• Laundry rooms on 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors

You want to do well academically
Studies show that students who live in residence do better academically. Not only are you within throwing distance of the Library, but also the Writing Centre, Math Centre, Assessment Centre, Student Services, and Educational Technology Services that can help you deliver knock-out projects. Group project work (and there will be some!) will be easier to coordinate if you’re already on campus and have access to residence study rooms.

You’re ready to leave home
Residence living allows you to exercise your independence without the added stress of finding and furnishing your own place. You can live your own life away from home in a safe environment with a strong student community. You’ll have the privacy of your own room, and you don’t have to worry about being alone – support is there if you hit any rough spots. We want you to feel at home and get the personal attention you deserve as you make the transition into the university environment.

You want to explore your leadership
Your university experience should be about much more than just attending classes. In addition to your studies at UFV, you can get involved in student associations, athletics and intramurals, as well as a range of community events that will help you develop skills and networks for the “real world” once you graduate. Excursions into Vancouver, camping trips, floor dinners, working out in the gym, dinner and movie nights, resume/cover letter/career clinics, and access to mentorship and leadership programs are just a few examples of activities that might interest you.

You want to make new friends and meet the world
Meeting friendly people with similar interests will make your transition to university easier. Peers, Resident Assistants [RA], and roommates are always around to talk to when you need them. Being around people who have similar classes and interests will really help you adjust to being away from home. Not only will you get to know your roomie, but your floor-mates as well. You’ll be part of a community of people all sharing similar challenges and triumphs. You’ll be able to study with other students in the same courses/program as you, and hang out together after class or during residence events.

In residence, you will make friendships that last a lifetime. You’ll be living with students from many different programs of study, and from across Canada and around the world. Talk about opening your mind – you’ll make friends who will challenge your opinions and expose you to ideas that transcend your field of study and your hometown community.

You want to sleep late and make it to class on time
Sleep late AND make it to class on time. Ah yes…it is possible if you’re only living steps away from the classroom. What will you do with all that extra time and money? Of course, there’s also a gym that hosts fitness, intramural, and recreational programming, a variety of on-campus activities and events, and the learning commons. And, did we mention that there’s a great pub on campus?
