Course Re/Design Workshop

Winter 2014 Date and time to be announced.

The Course Redesign Workshop (CRW) provides a collegial environment for instructors to design a new course or to re-design a current course. Over the three days of the workshop, instructors will examine their course content; identify and explain the intended outcomes of their redesigned-or newly designed-course; make informed choices regarding instructional methods to increase student engagement and learning; and design methods to assess learning that are congruent with the intended outcomes. Finally, they will learn about appropriate strategies to build a sense of community in their courses and ways to give and receive feedback.  Explicit attention will be creating an inclusive learning environment, including indigenizing the curriculum and universal design.

This workshop is designed for the new and experienced instructor, and for those who have course design in their future.

Come prepared to talk about teaching, to show and tell, to dismantle and "re-mantle" and to learn from your partners in the enterprise of teaching and learning. The Course Re/Design Workshop series is intended to be offered by our peers; if you are interested in facilitating these workshops, please attend this inaugural workshop one.

A morning snack will be provided every day. Lunch will be provided on the last day.

This workshop is free to all UFV faculty and staff.
