Working with animals training program
The Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC) requires that all personnel who work with animals in teaching or research at UFV must be knowledgeable about the principles of humane experimental science and ethical issues associated with the use of those animals. This also includes knowing the 3Rs tenet (Reduce, Refine, Replace) and understanding the risks of working with animals.
To meet this educational goal, UFV has developed an online training course based on the CCAC modules available through Blackboard (myClass). These training requirements are mandatory for all animal users (instructors, researchers, staff, and students).
Get started in CCAC training and become certified
To enroll yourself or your students in the training, email acc@ufv.ca. Provide the Animal Care Committee with your Banner ID or your class list with student numbers to have your students enrolled in the training. Once certified you will not be required to re-take the modules unless the CCAC policies change.
