SOC 280: Health and Illness with Dr. Michael Corman

This course explores how social conditions, perceptions, and behaviors affect health and the treatment of health and illness. Topics to be covered may include: conceptualization of the body, health, and illness; the structure of the Canadian health care system and the implications of this for health; differences in health, illness, and healthcare by social class, race/ethnicity, and gender; environmental links to health; alternative approaches to healthcare; health and illness over the lifecourse; the politics of pharmaceuticals; and health care in a cross-cultural context.

UNIV 101: Online Learning in the Age of COVID

Virtual study can be as easy as 1-2-3: 1 course, 2 weeks, 3 credits. It’s never been this easy to kickstart your university experience and gain a competitive edge with a high GPA. Students are expected to attend two hours each day from 10-12 PM in synchronous instruction, and two hours each day in an asynchronous learning format.

GD 157: Digital Design Media I

Introduction to digital image making in both vector and raster formats, using Adobe software, and the use of the right tool for the right task. Content-driven projects combined with workshops focus on image creation, image use, and critical reflection in visual communication contexts.

GD 159: Digital Design Media II

Introduction to professional layout applications for print and digital publishing using Adobe software. Students will produce comprehensive communication design projects while gaining a working knowledge of layout software, including font and file management, colour systems, a digital glossary, and file formats.
