Library
Website: www.ufv.ca/library/
The UCFV Library is committed to providing students and faculty with access to
the knowledge of the world through print, electronic, and other media. With
branches in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and Mission campuses, the library’s
collection has been selected to support the programs and courses taught at UCFV,
and currently contains more than 180,000 items including print and electronic
books, journals, newspapers, government publications, videotapes, and more. The
library subscribes to a wide variety of online article indexes and has access to
more than 10,000 electronic journal titles. The catalogue lists not only the
items physically housed in the campus libraries, but also a growing collection
of websites of use to students and faculty. The library’s website provides links
to the catalogues of other B.C. and Canadian libraries, so that if a desired
item cannot be found in the UCFV collection, eligible users can request it
through interlibrary loan.
Librarians teach orientation and research skills classes to all first year
English and Communications students, and to other classes on request of faculty.
Library staff are available in person, online, and by phone to provide
individual help on research assignments, term papers, or class presentations.
Off-campus access to the full range of the library’s online resources is
available to current UCFV students and faculty through the library website.
Services to distance students are provided through the website,
by telephone, or email.
The UCFV library collections and facilities are open to the general public. A
current library card is required to borrow materials. Students and faculty will
be provided with cards; members of the community who would like to borrow
