The Trades and Technology division offers training programs that respond to industry needs. All UCFV trades programs are based on provincial standards, and follow a core curriculum common to all B.C. institutions offering the program.
Trades and Technology programs at UCFV include Aircraft Structures Technician, Auto Service Technician, Carpentry, Heavy Duty/Commercial Transport Technician, Drafting Technician, Joinery, Professional Cook, and Welding.
Our trades programs provide hands-on, job-focused technology training. You can be working in your chosen field after finishing a 10-month entry-level trades training program at UCFV. Most of our programs also have apprenticeship options after completion of the entry-level certificate. Some of these apprenticeship options are offered at UCFV.
We encourage men and women of all ages and backgrounds to consider a career in trades. Contact us at 604-854-4548 for more information.
The Drafting program starts each September and continues into June. Applications are accepted beginning October 1, 2004, for the Fall 2005 class.
Refer to the Drafting Technician section  for further application details.
Applicants will submit their application and $45 application fee directly to Admissions and Records. Once the application has been processed, the student will be contacted by the Trades Centre staff to arrange entrance exams.
