Art History and Visual Studies

Art History extended minor

This extended minor can be applied to any degree program at UFV. This section specifies the extended minor discipline requirements only. Please refer to the specific degree section for information on additional requirements, declaration eligibility, and residency requirements. Bachelor of Fine Arts students may pair the Art History extended minor with any other BFA extended minor as listed in the BFA section of the calendar, but not with the Visual Arts major.

Lower-level requirements: 18 credits

• Three credits of 100-level AH
• AH 200
• 12 credits of 100- or 200-level AH; three credits may be chosen from ANTH 111, FD 193, ENGL 170, FILM 110, FILM 120, FILM 200, FILM 220, LAS 206, MUSC 150, PHIL 250, PHIL 251, PHIL 252, THEA 201, THEA 203/ENGL 233 (formerly THEA 202), THEA 204/ENGL 234, or any lower-level VA course
  

Upper-level requirements: 16 credits

• 16 credits of 300- and 400-level AH

Note: At least 50% of the upper-level credits must be completed at UFV.

Art History minor

Bachelor of Fine Arts students cannot pair the Art History minor with the Visual Arts major.

• Six additional credits of 100- and 200-level AH

Upper-level requirements: 16 credits

• 16 credits of 300- and 400-level AH
