The Advance Mediacl Office Assistant program equips students with the skills they will need to assist a physician in a greater capacity. This includes theory, advanced administration, staff leadership, patient support, and clinical support skills. This program is perfect for experienced MOAs who are seeking career advancement and an advanced skill set.
Successful completion at the post-secondary level of a Medical Office Assistant certificate program that includes a practicum and two years of current employment as a Medical Office Assistant; or
Three years of medical administrative experience, current employment in a medical office, and a letter of recommendation from their medical office employer.
When to apply
Applications are accepted on a continuous basis throughout the year. Qualified applicants are considered for the next intake in which there is space. See Continuous application process for more information.

Official transcripts (or interim transcripts) from all post-secondary institutions you have attended showing grade/course achievement as per entrance requirements. To be considered official, transcripts must be sent directly to UFV from the originating institution; see the Transfer Credit section for details.
You will be advised of an admission decision and, if accepted, will be provided with registration information. A deposit is required when you register (see the Fees and Other Costs section). This money will be applied toward your tuition fees. Final payment of all course fees is due the end of the second week of classes.
Basis for admission decision
Applicants who meet the entrance requirements will be admitted in order of their application date. This date is set when an application, all required documentation, and the application fee have been submitted.
This certifcate program is 150 hours, scheduled in part-time and full-time schedules. The program will be offered in a hybrid delivery format over a four month period and includes face-to-face and online study. Face-to-face classes will be scheduled during evening and weekend hours to accommodate working professionals.

Program continuance
Students whose GPA fall below 2.0 will be required to withdraw from the program.
Residency
All courses must be taken at UFV.
Graduation requirements
Students must successfully complete each course with 80% or higher to be eligible for graduation.
Maximum length of time to complete program
Students must complete the program withing three years. Courses may be delivered online and face-to-face (classes are scheduled during the evenings and weekends) and in hybrid format.
