ufv.ca/swhsThe School of Social Work and Human Services offers education at several levels. The Master of Social Work degree focuses on social justice, anti-oppressive practice, and leadership and supervision, in the areas of children and families, health, or mental health. The Bachelor of Social Work degree prepares students for generalist social work practice, and can be obtained with a Child Welfare specialization. The Social Services diploma prepares students for work at the para-professional level in the social services field, and is available with a First Nations option. The Community Support Worker certificate prepares students to work in a variety of roles with children and adults with mental and/or physical disabilities.
An Aboriginal Culture and Language Support diploma is available for individuals currently employed or seeking employment in K-12 Aboriginal education (see Indigenous Studies for this and other Aboriginal options), and a Health and Human Services certificate is available through Abbotsford Career Programs at School District #34 (Abbotsford).
