Protection of privacy

Personal information collected and used by the university for the Campus Card are your name, student/employee number, and photograph for the purpose of producing the official personal identification card for the University of the Fraser Valley. Information on the Campus Card will be used to verify your identity, facilitate transactions through payment card networks, and for the purpose of administering all services, programs, and activities associated with the card. 

Individuals who obtain a Campus Card acknowledge the above and consent to the collection of personal information, including digital images used to produce the card. Your digital photograph will be printed on the front of your Campus Card and will be stored in the university database. Photos collected are proprietary and are kept secure and confidential. Photos can be released only to the individual of the photo. Students must make an in-person request to the card office. Employees can make an in-person or a UFV email request.

Your personal information is collected under the authority of the University Act, and in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA). The information will only be used for Campus Card records. Outside parties are not granted access to personal or account information except where express consent is granted or the university is complying with Campus Security, or as authorized by law.
