Posting details

Under the general direction of the Manager, Print Services, the Print Services Technician performs the daily operations to support the UFV Print Services. Responsibilities include:

  • Services and consults students, faculty and staff on print services orders
  • Coordinates, prioritizes, and completes print services orders in a timely manner
  • Coordinates, scans, edits, archives, prints and finishes all course pack materials
  • Customizes, processes, and delivers administrative and academic print services orders
  • Assists and supports Senior Print Services Technician in day-to-day administrative and technical duties
  • Operates and performs routine maintenance on print services equipment
  • Performs monthly readings on convenience copiers
  • Inspects MFD fleet of copiers on a weekly basis, performs basic services such as checking toner levels, clearing paper james, etc. and informing manager if a service call needs to be placed
  • Informs Logistics department when toner or supplies are running low in these areas
  • Processes all payments received for student or public printed orders
  • Keeps track of all materials, informing the appropriate authority when materials are low
  • Adheres to strict levels of confidentiality and copyright laws with all photocopied and printed material
  • Participates in departmental monthly meetings, giving input and identifying areas of improvement and concerns for the department


Successful completion of a one year certificate in office administration from a recognized post-secondary institution. Minimum one (1) year of clerical experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other programs such as Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat Reader, and Publisher. Knowledge of computer operations and related print services equipment is required. Ability to multi-task under competing deadlines, follow written and oral instructions, work well under pressure, and troubleshoot.
