PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Professional Communication Essentials certificate is a three course, nine-credit program that is perfect if you are in a program of study or workplace environment that requires exceptional communication skills.

In today’s knowledge-based economy, smart communicators work in challenging and diverse roles — building relationships with clients, leading teams, and developing online communities to inform and engage.

UFV’s three-course Professional Communication Essentials certificate can help you launch or advance your career by boosting your business writing and public speaking skills. You will develop skills to speak confidently in meetings or in front of large groups, and you will learn how to produce quality corporate communications and to think critically in various situations.

You might complete the associate certificate while enrolled in your current program, or you may choose to complete the certificate on its own as part of a professional development opportunity.

Who will be teaching you?

Who knows about the written word and communications skills better than people who are in the communications industry? Not only does our faculty have high academic qualifications, but they are also current, successful practitioners of the ideas they will be sharing with you. They are committed instructors who are passionate about communicating their knowledge and cultivating enthusiasm in their students.
