Dr Ziaul Hossain joined the University of Fraser Valley in 2022 and has been working as an Assistant Professor since 2023. Prior to that, he was serving as an Assistant Professor in North South University (NSU), Bangladesh for 3 years. He has experience in Software Industry and has been involved in the management of a cloud computing start-up since 2019. Dr Ziaul Hossain has extensive experience running and managing manufacturing business besides his academic involvement. 

Dr Ziaul Hossain completed his Bachelors in CSE from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). Then he obtained the MSc in Wireless Networks from Queen Mary, University of London. After that, he received an EPSRC (UK) scholarship to pursue Doctoral studies at the University of Aberdeen, UK. He achieved PhD in Engineering from the same institution while working the research project SIRA (Satellite Internet for Rural Access) under the dot.rural digital economy hub.

Dr Ziaul Hossain has been involved with many extracurricular activities. These include organizing national level events (BUET), participating in programming competition (QMUL), opening IEEE student branch (University of Aberdeen), serving as IEEE student branch mentor and co-ordinator (NSU) etc.
