email FaisalFaisal Naeem is an Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) in the School of Computing at the University of Fraser Valley, with a focus on the integration of artificial intelligent (AI) techniques to optimize 6G networks. His expertise includes Reinforcement Learning, Generative AI, Federated Learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Software-Defined Networking aimed at addressing critical challenges such as resource management, network security, and performance optimization in future communication systems. His research delivers state-of-the-art solutions that contribute to the evolution of next-generation network technologies.
Faisal has substantial experience across both academic and industry settings. He spent one year as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at École de Technologie Supérieure (ETS), supported by MITACS funding, where he collaborated with ULTRA TCS on developing AI-driven frameworks for threat detection in underwater networks and distributed AI systems to enhance 6G network performance. Subsequently, he worked as a Senior AI Research Engineer at the Resilient Machine Learning Institute (ReMI) at ETS, where he focused on developing AI-based solutions for complex wireless communication challenges. His research has been published in leading journals such as IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, and IEEE Communications Magazine. He has also collaborated with top academic institutions, including ETS and the National University of Singapore, contributing to advancements in AI for 6G network systems.
