program or Professional Florists with a minimum of 2 years design experience.

Develop a fundamental knowledge of flower arranging and learn the Elements and Principles of floral design. Familiarize yourself with common and botanical plant and flower names. Learn about floral tools and supplies, the care and handling of flowers, and the preparation and planning of floral design. Make your own floral arrangements to take home. Flowers and floral supplies are included in the tuition fee, and a floral toolkit is an additional one-time fee at registration.

Acquire the skills needed to work independently on basic flower arrangements and expand your knowledge with hands-on experience creating advanced styles of floral design. Learn about sales, pricing, wire services, branding and merchandising. Create your own floral arrangements to take home and enjoy. Flowers and floral supplies are included in the course fee.

Try your hand at a variety of Christmas designs. Learn about Christmas-related product information, cone identification, decorating a Christmas tree, and seasonal designs (table centrepiece with candles, Christmas wreaths, door hangings, and one-sided arrangements). Find out about fertilizers and pesticides for houseplants. Flowers and supplies are included in the course fee.

Expand your floral design skills to create sympathy funeral arrangements and other church decorations. Topics include the importance of sympathy etiquette and traditions, customer care, and creating floral designs such as a casket sprays, church bouquets, wreath designs, and easel sprays. Flowers and floral supplies are included in the course fee.

Topics include magazine worthy wedding flowers, wedding productions, the meaning of flowers, multicultural weddings, and how to develop a wedding business. Create floral designs to wear such as body flowers, floral jewelry, and floral leis; design bridal bouquets, reception flowers, and more. Flowers and floral supplies are included in the course fee.

This six-hour hands-on workshop covers basic pruning techniques applicable to a wide variety of plant material. Participants work on different trees, ornamental shrubs, and a fruit tree to learn to make proper cuts. Dress for the weather and bring your own pruners, such as secateurs or loppers.

Participants will learn the basic steps, from safety, weighing, bringing to trace, adding scents and exfoliants and using molds. All materials and supplies are provided. You are welcome to bring your own scented oils. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes, including long sleeves. Please bring hand towel to insulate your soap for 24 hours after class. Take home 2 pounds of soap, recipe, techniques and confidence to make your next batch at home. Soap is ready to use in 3 weeks.
