I am an academic 'latecomer' with 25 years of experience in policy research and program management in post-conflict peacebuilding and reconciliation, Indigenous and global health, and food security and nutrition, in sub-Saharan Africa and Canada. My current research interests include food sovereignty, food security, food systems and the social determination of health, Indigenous data sovereignty and decolonial research methods. I am an uninvited guest on unceded K'omoks and Pentlatch territory (Hornby Island, British Columbia), where my partner and I are attempting to build a sustainable and self-sufficient lifestyle while treading lightly on this beautiful land.
