Make an access to information or personal information request

We aim to make the process of accessing information straightforward. There are two primary avenues through which you can obtain information.

Routine requests

Routine requests allow you to access certain information without the need for a formal Freedom of Information (FOI) request. You can go through routine channels for:

  • Records involving you: Obtain records that were received from or previously sent to you.
  • Personal information about you: Request records that do not contain personal information about third parties but only pertain to you (e.g., requesting a copy of your transcript).
  • Consented releases: Access personal information released to a third party with your signed consent.
  • Publicly available information: Explore information that is already publicly accessible.

Formal requests

Formal requests require that you submit a formal Freedom of Information request.

For personal information

Submit a formal FOI request if you want access to your personal information. This includes:

  • Employment Records: Information related to your employment.
  • Health Information: Access health-related records.
  • Academic Records: Obtain records related to your academic history.

Note: Some personal information may be accessible without a formal FOI request, such as transcripts through the Official Transcript Request form.

For non-personal information

For information not available to the public or involving third parties, submit a formal FOI request. This includes:

  • Non-public information: Access information not readily available to the public.
  • Third-party information: Obtain records containing personal information about someone other than yourself.
