Éy swáyel, good day. Welcome to the Faculty of Health Sciences, where our programs prepare graduates for careers as professionals in the field of health and wellness. Our programs are offered at the beautiful Canada Education Park campus in Chilliwack, on S'ólh Téméxw, the traditional and unceded territory of the Stó:lō people. Long before Canada was formed, the Stó:lō (people of the river) occupied the land on which UFV is located. They lived in the Fraser Valley and lower Fraser Canyon of British Columbia and they spoke Halq'eméylem, also known as the upriver dialect. We recognize and honour the contribution that Aboriginal people have made — and continue to make — to our community. We support Indigenous learners and seeks to incorporate indigenous ways of knowing in our curriculum.
Our faculty are dedicated educators and scholars, who engage in the latest methods of curriculum delivery and provide innovative hands-on experiences in our small class sizes.
Through our School of Health Studies and our School of Kinesiology, we offer degree programs in nursing and kinesiology, a diploma in practical nursing, and certificates in certified dental assistant and health care assistant programs.
Our programs and courses are founded in scientific research, are rich in experiential learning, and offer clinical and practicum training opportunities. Our graduates are highly employable professionals as nurses, certified dental assistants, kinesiologists, and health care assistants. Many of our graduates go on to further specialized education leading to careers in medicine, research, nursing specialities, education, physiotherapy, or chiropractic.
