UFV Housing

Orientation

You are probably wondering about your new home, what to expect when you arrive, and how you are going to settle in and make new friends. You might even feel a little overwhelmed by all the things you need to know and do. We want you to feel comfortable and secure in your new home. That is why we strongly recommend you attend our student housing orientation Otterly at Home.

Join us and become Otterly at Home!

Otterly at Home is our housing orientation program for students moving into Lá:lem te Baker for the first time. Created for students by students, the program provides students valuable information about campus living and how things work at Lá:lem te Baker, along with preparing you for your move.

You will learn what to expect when you arrive, how to interpret your housing contract, what household items you will need for your new home, what kind of programming and student supports we provide, tips for living with a new human, where you will cook, do your laundry, and socialize.

Our Fall 2024 Otterly at Home program and Week of Welcome includes:

  • A series of videos in talk show format that provide you with practical information about living in student housing. You will receive an email by August 5th with instructions on how to access the videos.
  • In person, interactive adulting seminars.
  • Community events that bring housing students together, and give you an opportunity to explore your new home.

Our official schedule will be posted by July 1, 2024.
