WHMIS training

UFV is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for its employees and students to work and learn in. UFV Environmental Health & Safety strives to ensure that UFV operates in compliance with WorkSafeBC standards.

Currently UFV employs the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS). WHMIS is Canada's national chemical hazard communication standard. The key elements of the system are cautionary labeling of containers of WHMIS hazardous products, the provision of safety data sheets (SDSs) and worker education and training.

UFV strongly encourages all faculty, staff, and students that use UFV laboratories participate in WHMIS training.
