1. Contest

1.1 The University of the Fraser Valley (“UFV”) is a contest sponsor of the Open House Prize Draw to take place at the UFV Open House event on Saturday, October 26, 2024 (the “Event”).

1.2 This contest will be run on October 26, 2024, and the winner will be selected on October 29, 2024.

2. How to enter

2.1 No purchase necessary. Only one entry per person. This contest is open to Canadian residents who are the age of majority in their province of residence, excluding Quebec residents (“Entrants”). Employees and faculty members of UFV are not eligible to enter this contest. Minors under the age of majority will be permitted to enter the contest and be eligible to win the prize. In no case, however, will a minor be declared a winner without the prior written consent and release of liability of the minor’s parent or legal guardian.

2.2 Entrants may enter this contest by registering as a “Prospective Student” on the Eventbrite registration page for the Event and choosing to be entered into the draws for door prizes.

3. How to win

3.1 Winners will be randomly selected on October 29, 2024 and will be announced on October 30, 2024. Odds of winning depend on the number of Entrants.

4. Prizes

4.1 The prizes are as follows:

(i) 3rd place: One of three UFV first-year starter packs, each including a hoodie, a surprise bag, and a $200 gift certificate to the UFV Bookstore.
(ii) 2nd place: Apple AirPods 4 (valued at approximately $249).
(iii) 1st place: $500 UFV tuition credit (non-transferable and must be used during the 2025-26 academic year).

4.2 The prizes must be accepted as awarded. No substitutions of the prizes are permitted except by UFV at its discretion. UFV reserves the right to substitute any of the prizes with other prizes of equal or greater value if any prize cannot be awarded as described for any reason. Prizes are non-transferable and are not redeemable for cash or credit, in whole or in part.

4.3 Winners will be required to answer a skill-testing question in order to be declared an official winner.

4.4 UFV may require winners to sign a liability/publicity release, including a consent to UFV posting the winner’s name and photograph on its website. If a winner fails to return the contest documents within the time specified by UFV, the winner will forfeit their prize and an alternate winner will be selected.
