I was born and raised in Ireland and upon completion of high school, took my degree at Trinity College in Dublin. After subsequently moving to Canada, I enrolled in the PDP program at Simon Fraser University and became a teacher. This was a career choice I never regretted! My career as a teacher was extremely varied. I taught physical education, and then moved on to classroom teaching and was fortunate enough to experience teaching grade four, five, six, seven and eight. I became fascinated by the role that technology can play in education and pursued a masters degree in Education Technology at UBC. For the 6 last years of my career I was a technology helping teacher for the Abbotsford School District.
Since joining the UFV Teacher Education Department, and prior to my current role as joint program coordinator, I have been a faculty mentor and taught the courses on technology in education.
I love hiking and the outdoors and consider myself very fortunate to be able to give back to a profession I have been so passionate about.
