Students who are registered in other programs often take courses from SCMS for general interest or to complement their own program offerings.

For example:

  • Criminology or Psychology students often take Sociology electives or combine their major with a minor in Sociology.
  • Geography or Business students can expand their global knowledge through courses in LAS or Anthropology.
  • English students may take electives in Media and Communications Studies or Anthropology.

Whether you take Anthropology, Latin American Studies, Media and Communications Studies or Sociology, the emphasis on critical analysis can help you develop the thinking skills necessary for further study in other fields, for graduate work in our disciplines, and for many occupations.
