Peer Assist is a program run within the Student Support Centre and is designed to provide case management services and support for students experiencing academic and/or personal challenges.
If you're a student seeking support, you can be connected to a Student Support Peer (SSP) to help you navigate university challenges from a peer perspective. SSPs offer support by creating a welcoming and inclusive space and identifying and referring to resources that can provide assistance. They can help students to identify goals, create action plans, and problem-solve around potential barriers.
The Student Support Centre is an important resource for students at UFV and by including the Peer Assist program, students can now be connected to a fellow student and receive individual support from one of their peers.
