Student Life’s Leadership conference, Building Anti-Racist Communities, held on March 18 and 19 was a success! With 34 attendees, including staff, faculty, students and community members, individuals came together to discuss and share ideas on various aspects of Racism and Anti Racism. Highlights of the conference included “Cops in the Head” an interactive session facilitated by Theatre for Living where participants engage in acting out various emotions and thoughts associated with a specific scenario. Other workshop topics included defining racism, creating safe spaces, white privilege and intercultural communication.Student Life extends a heartfelt thank you to all the committee members, volunteers, participants and facilitators who were involved with ensuring the success of this event!
