Coast Capital Savings Student Leadership Challenge Student Engagement Initiatives
“Though each student leader is a unique individual, there are shared patterns to the practice of leadership. And these practices can be learned.” - Kouzes and Posner (2008)
Our Goal: To develop all students as leaders through developmental and experiential group experiences. The Student Leadership Challenge will provide our students with skills and tools that will enable them to become the successful leaders our student organizations and communities need and rely on. UFV leaders are students who intentionally develope and share their knowledge, skills, values and experiences that are necessary for the development of healthy communities and global citizenship.
Method: Individuals develop leadership skills when they are placed in an active learning environment that enables them to practice their knowledge, skills, and experiences within a safe and supportive environment. Students will learn about key leadership skills and will be given opportunities to apply these skills.
