Project overview
In 2020, a solar wall was installed on the South side of the Envision Athletic Centre. The black metal wall absorbs the sun’s energy and preheats air entering into the building. This preheated air is circulated to supplement existing heating systems, reducing energy costs and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

- 240m² transpired collector installed to preheat fresh air supplied to buildings by utilizing solar energy
- Reduce the amount of natural gas required to maintain the space at the setpoint

- Emissions reduction is estimated to be 18.2 tCO2e/yr
